Heavy Crepe Paper Tulips Template & Video Tutorial

For this month’s Member Make workshop, Meagan will be showing our members how to make these heavy crepe paper tulips in a vibrant coral color. We’ve made many different versions of tulips over the years in both paper and felt. But this is the first time we’ve used heavy crepe paper!

We love these too-lip much

Many of the tulips we’ve made in the past have had more of an open shape. However, these heavy crepe paper tulips are more closed and must be shaped in a particular way to get the petals just right. During the workshop you will learn our shaping techniques for this flower as well as how to add more detail to your petals with PanPastel. 

While we love the bold and bright color of coral, you are always welcome to make your heavy crepe paper tulips in a different color. When you are done making your flowers, we’d love to see them! Be sure to post photos in our crafter’s community or on Instagram with the hashtag #MadeWithLia.

Skill level: Advanced due to all of the specific shaping needed for these petals

Crafting tips: Getting the perfect closed shape for these flowers takes a lot of gentle shaping. If you overstretch a petal, you would need to start over with a new one.

• Kai 8″ Scissors
• High-Temp Hot Glue Gun
• Needle-Nose Pliers/Wire Cutters
• Curling Tool
• Cricut Maker or Silhouette Cameo 4 (optional)
• Cricut Brayer

• Floral Wire – 24-Gauge Paper Covered Green
• Thick Paper Covered Stem Wire

• Aleene’s Tacky Glue or Art Glitter Glue
• PanPastel Artist Pastel – Orange 280.5
